Brantley K. Molpus, MD, FACEP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Molpus received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine (USFCOM), receiving both the Honors Surgery and Honors Medicine
distinctions at graduation.
He received his undergraduate degrees from Daytona Beach Community College and the University of South Florida.

He has been active in politics and organized medicine from his early medical school training-being one of a handful of students chosen by USFCOM administration to meet with Hillary Rodham Clinton when she was in Florida promoting her health reform plan in the 1990's.
|
|
Dr. Molpus has served in local, state, and national positions within the American Medical Association, and as a medical student authored AMA policy that is still in place today.
|
|
He served on the Board of Directors for the Florida College of Emergency Physicians as a resident physician, and has been a grassroots lobbyist for patient's rights in Tallahassee for multiple legislative sessions.
|
|
He completed his internship and residency at the level one trauma center of Orlando Regional Healthcare (ORH), and is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine since 1997, and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians since 1999.
|
|
He was one of the founding partners of Emergency Physicians of Central Florida (EPCF), greater Orlando's premier emergency care providers for the ORH system.
|
|
After working with EPCF for ten years, Dr. Molpus transitioned into urgent care medicine and co-founded the miniER Corporation, and serves as its Chief Medical Officer.
|
|
In 2008, Dr. Molpus was appointed to the volunteer faculty of the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine.
|
|
Dr. Molpus will serve as preceptor for several members of the charter class of medical students from UCF to learn the art of medicine as part of their Community of Practice
Module during year one of their curriculum.

Kelly Barkhau, ARNP-C
Kelly Barkhau, ARNP-C, hails from the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Florida as a traveling nurse after receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in
1999.
Her wide range of experience includes cardiac, vascular, and emergency nursing.

She went on to graduate school at the University of Central Florida (UCF) where she received her Nurse Practitioner degree in 2005, after which she has practiced Emergency Medicine exclusively.
|
|
Kelly now passes on her extensive knowledge of emergent/urgent care medicine by serving as an adjunct professor of Nurse Practitioner students at UCF via precepting
students as they rotate through the miniER.
|
|
Recently married in March of this year, she and her husband honeymooned in Ireland prior to returning to patient care with us at the Waterford Lakes clinic.

James McAleer, MD
Dr. James McAleer received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
He did his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami. Upon completion of his residency, he moved to Orlando.
|
|
|
He planned to work in the emergency room at Lucerne Hospital in downtown Orlando for a couple of years before opening his own pediatric practice.
Over 30 years later, he was still working in the emergency room; leaving only when the hospital was sold and they closed the doors.

|
Dr. McAleer has specialized in Emergency Medicine since before the specialty existed. During Dr. McAleer’s long career, he has worked full or part
time in emergency rooms throughout Central Florida including: Orlando Regional, Central Florida Regional, Osceola Regional and Arnold Palmer
Hospital.

|
He is one of few physicians who have the distinction of being double boarded, being a member of both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and
American Board of Pediatrics.
|
|
Dr. McAleer was the 2nd fastest miler in Florida his senior year in high school and he received a four year track scholarship from Tulane University
where he got his undergraduate degree. He no longer runs the mile, but uses his focus, determination and speed to address patient needs and busy
waiting rooms.

David Yi, MD
David Yi earned his M.D. degree in 2005 from The Chicago Medical School.
He went on to complete a four year residency in combined Internal Medicine and
Pediatrics at Orlando Health, which includes such facilities as Orlando Regional Medical Center, Arnold Palmer Hospital, and Winnie Palmer Hospital.

Utilizing his combined training and experience in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, this multilingual physician looks to provide focused yet comprehensive
healthcare to all individuals (infants to geriatric patients) in the urgent care setting at the miniER.
